Mahama Pledges School Farm Revival at Northern College of Science and Technology

Ghana’s former president and current flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, made a stop at the Northern College of Science and Technology (COSTECH) in Yendi during his “Building Ghana” tour. Greeted by a warm welcome from students and the iconic “Arise Ghana Youth” song, Mahama expressed his admiration for the college’s initiatives, particularly the student-run farm.

Mr. Nathaniel Adams Jnr., the school’s founder, took the opportunity to introduce the institution and showcase its notable achievements, including a tour of the school’s farm. Impressed by the students’ enthusiasm and dedication, Mahama made a key pledge: to reintroduce and expand the school farm project across all Ghanaian schools if elected in the December 2024 elections. He commended the school for its efforts in promoting agricultural activities among students. He emphasized the importance of such projects in instilling practical skills and fostering a deeper connection to the agricultural sector.

This commitment highlights Mahama’s focus on education and agricultural development. The school farm project aligns with his broader vision of empowering young Ghanaians through practical skills and fostering self-sufficiency within communities.
